Flexible Dentures

Flexible dentures adapt around the shape of teeth and gums upon insertion. They are generally used when it would be difficult or impossible to insert a conventional plastic or light alloy denture.

How do they Work?

The dentures ‘flex’ into position and therefore often do not require any clasps to hold them firmly in place. They can be the best solution for individuals who cannot wear normal dentures, or have some remaining teeth. With flexible dentures there is no worry that your teeth will come loose, and speech will also remain clear.

Advantages

There is usually no need for clasps or denture adhesive, because flexible dentures are designed to fit the gum tissue perfectly.

Also, the material used when making flexible dentures is generally transparent and will blend in with the natural gum colour of your mouth. For this reason they can look more natural than other types of dentures. Lastly, flexible dentures are easier to manufacture with less components, meaning they can be made in a much shorter period of time. As a result you won’t have to wait for your dentures to be fitted.
