Having denture implants is affected by a number of factors and circumstances that are unique to each individual. In the vast majority of situations, however, dental implants offer a far more reliable, durable and aesthetically pleasing alternative to traditional dentures, and most of our patients would say they are completely worth the price.

When calculating the cost of your denture implants, a dental surgeon will carefully consider all of the following:

• The quality of your jaw bone
• The amount of suitable bone into which the implants can be inserted
• The health of any existing teeth
• Any other existing medical conditions which may affect the implants

The Dental Surgeon will also assess your existing oral health to determine exactly how many dental implants and accompanying dentures you will require for the smile you desire.

Breakdown of Costs

The cost of dental implants depends on the number of implants that are needed to hold the dentures successfully and securely in place. Here at the Smile Centre we can craft anything from partial dentures to full dentures. The general costs are as follows:

• Individual dental implants cost approximately £750 each.
• The processing lab charges £250 per dental implant, and therefore a set of 4 implants costs approximately £4,000.

Normally between 2 and 4 denture implants are required per arch to support dentures.

What are the Costs of Full or Partial Denture Implants?

4 dental implants are necessary to support a full upper denture, and the cost is £4,000. 2 implants are required for a lower denture and the cost is £2,000. Both of these prices do not take into account the cost of the dentures that need to be placed on the implants. These dentures are also reinforced as patients can bite up to 10 times harder with implant dentures than they can with normal dentures.

While implant dentures cost considerably more than traditional dentures, they are also much more stable and comfortable. Upper dentures are far more secure and patients will find it easier to speak as the palate is removed creating more tongue space. In addition, you won’t have to worry about dentures becoming loose or even falling out of your mouth. Generally you will be able to eat many foods that you were unable to eat before.

However, the Smile Centre does not recommend chewing very hard or sticky foods, as these can damage even implant retained dentures.

• The processing lab charges £250 per dental implant, and therefore a set of 4 implants costs approximately £3,000.

Normally between 2 and 4 denture implants are required per arch to support dentures.
